Joshua Tree

We woke up and took our time getting arrive so we could stop by the m&m store on the Last Vegas strip. It's 4 stories! Got a cup of random m&Ms that we're still enjoying one at a time.

Then off to Joshua tree. This park is kinda special to us since we came here when we lived in San Diego and Joshua trees are just so pitiful or silly looking or something. I love em.

On the way, about 2 hours before getting to the park itself, we lucked upon an even denser forest!

Also, another set of sand dunes! Are these at the bottom of all mountains and I just never noticed? What the heck?
Also, I hit a sign. Oops. Here's a pic of my rearview mirror, you can see the bike still touching it. Oops. It was soft sand around it (it literally said "soft sand") and Jim just pushed it back up. No big deal. Oops.
We are not good selfie takers
Ha!
We stopped to climb some boulders

Laura drew this awesome pic, inspired by a Joshua tree (the angsty looking pokey guy) and his friend, inspired by another plant we saw there that we loved. Little dry balloons that made an cool sounds when they fell off the plant and rolled in the wind. Kinda like grind cherries, but empty and dry. Anyway, Laura's a great artist.

Then on towards LA. Tomorrow-the beach!
