Grand Canyon

The north rim of the GC was closed due to fires:

It's amazing how far away you can see the smoke. So powerful! And scary. We were never in any danger, just mildly inconvenienced.

So we went around the east end to the south rim and got to see Horseshoe bend on the way. 

At the lookout point, there was perfect sand and temp for some downtime

And then on to the Grand Canyon!

Which is honestly so big it's hard to understand. It's a good thing to see, but there's not more than 20 minutes of viewing and then you're done. Any further exploration is really either a huge investment of money and or energy. I think the easiest hike is many hours long and we weren't interested in that today. And helicopter or donkey rides just weren't a big draw either. 

So we looked... And moved on
