Recent pics

Here are some of our most recent pictures. I also have an AWESOME video of Laura, but its 16 minutes long and locks up the computer everytime I try to move it from the camera to the computer. Not sure what I'm going to do to get it off the camera.
Mom, here is a picture of my daylilies if you want to see if you are interested in them. I also have a plant about this size that's a little bit more yellow and less orange.
Here's about the only shot of my garden that I'm really proud of. Swiss chard, basil, and sage. Everything else turned out kind of sad this year. But I'll give it another shot next year!
Here are some pants I made for the new baby. I'm trying to decide if they are too girly. But gosh darn it, I made them, so gosh darn it, he's going to wear them!

Snack at the playground.

Laura wanted to hide behind the tree to surprise us.

Family pic from a bike ride around Minnehaha Park and Falls.

We made a train out of the kitchen chairs while I washed the floor. I remember doing the same thing while my mom washed our floor! Thanks mom! This was a great toy for her.

Already? Really?

Yesterday, Laura decided she was going to marry her daddy. That happened WAY earlier than I thought it was supposed to. I told her that she made a good choice, but that I already claimed him.

a few entries down

I added some pictures of Laura at my parent's house a few days ago, but didn't publish until today. So if you're interested, scroll down a few entries to see the new pictures.

And its a.....

BOY! Went to the ultrasound yesterday and found out we're having a boy in November. Very exciting, but I'm a little nervous since I really only understand girls. But we'll figure it out. We got ultrasound pics, but none of them are very good, so we'll just have to wait for him to take better ones. Due in late November.

We told Laura today about the baby. I think she understands and she's excited to teach him all kinds of things. Her reaction right after we told her was pretty much: "well, OK. Can I have some more syrup on my pancakes?" But she has brought it up several times the rest of the day and it seems to be sinking in more.

Stop off at Jim's parents

We stopped at the Jim's parents' house on the way back home from my families' reunion. Laura had a great time with everyone and even rode Aunt Rosemary's horse!

No, the ball didn't make it. Grandpa Phil had to go "help" it to the end.

My favorite shot of the weekend. ALL the adults read this book to ALL the kids at least 5-6 times each. The Best Nest was hit.

not too many pictures of me with the kid on here since I'm usually behind the camera. Here's one Jim happened to snap the other day.

Oklahoma Reunion '08

We drove down to my family's small reunion last week. My brother, sister and I all in the same place at once! That hasn't happened in about 3 years. It was great to see them all and I got to meet my brother's youngest and get to know his other kids a little bit better. The drive down and back was surprisingly easy. Laura did awesome, although she never slept in the car once. She was up until 11:30 the first night. The only time she cried was when I tried to make her sleep, so we gave up on that and she was a happy camper. She slept great in the hotel and great at my parent's house. We also got to stop by Jim's family's house for one night on the way back. Laura rode a horse and was very brave with Papa's dog Jill. It was a great vacation and I will try to get pictures up here ASAP.
