My lovely husband had airline miles that were expiring, so he send me on a trip to find a break from this Minnesota Winter. I chose Tucson, thinking I'd find sun, cacti, and heat, but my friend sent me this picture of her backyard in Tucson the morning I was due to leave here. Sigh.
School was cancelled down there, a grim repeat of what we've been having up here the last 2 months. But I was fortunate enough that the snow quickly melted and I even came home with a bit of sunburn.
My friend Cindy, our elementary school principal's secretary, just happened to be down there at the same time with her boyfriend. So they took me on a great hike with great views and actually perfect weather. Now that I think about it, I wouldn't have wanted it any hotter. 60-70 and sunny is about as perfect as it gets for hiking.
I visited St. Phillips farmer's market on their artisan day and found a lovely pair of earrings.
This is the courtyard outside my hotel room door.
A Mary shrine that I think is sweet.
I visited Gallery in the Sun, an art gallery of paintings by DeGrazia. This is my favorite.
A giant Palo Verde. They are so cool.
Snow on the mountains!
Rattlesnake bridge
I tried so hard to escape Minnesota, but it kept following me. They sold Caribou at the zoo coffee shop! I did not buy any and saved my pennies for something more interesting at a the Cartel Lab later in the trip.
