My official favorite part of the trip: the fireplace and huge pile of wood and kindling ready to go. I built a fire every morning and anytime we were in the house more than an hour. The kids and Jim were helpful too. No, it wasn't cold enough for a fire, but it sure added ambiance.
This vacation was pretty slow and relaxed compared to most of our past trips. It was wonderful.
On our way to Door County, Jim mentioned something about focusing on exploring the area close to our home base and really getting to know that area, instead of driving long distances every day to see the random things in the guide books. Isn't that wise advice? My husband is amazing.
Today, we went swimming twice and went to the Egg Harbor Main Street Market for groceries. While in Egg Harbor, we wandered the town, walked out on the jetty at the marina, and got ice cream and cherry salsa (so good!) at the Chocolate Chicken. We also went on a hike around the resort wooded areas.
