Our kids have really impressed me this week. It's the first week of this weird covid hybrid school situation and they're both starting new schools and I am working a lot, all reasons they've had to step up.
Laura's had to talk her way onto one of the coveted spots on the debate team and then work with her new karate teaching schedule to be able to do both. She had to do a lot of advocating for herself to older men. And she did it all alone, not one bit of help from us. She started high school, figured out the online portion and is very happy with her new, much busier, schedule.
Adam started middle school with excitement and took a lot of responsibility to learn his way around the school and prep his supplies. He got himself to school on his bike on Thursday after Jim and I left for work about half an hour before he needed to leave. He's enjoying his Lego team and contributing to that a lot, it sounds like. He's kept up with all his online assignments this week too, as far as I can tell.

And best of all, they are getting along with each other amazingly.

one last RV trip thought

Also, I wanted to mention that on our RV trip this summer, we stopped by a very tiny gas station/local grocery store along the CA coast and I bought some salmon that had been caught that morning. We cooked it for dinner that night and it was incredible. Best salmon I remember eating! I didn't want to forget that :)
